The Gettysburg Address

In 1861, during President Lincoln's administration, 7 states walked out of Congress and the Original Constitution was suspended, which meant that Lincoln could not lawfully declare war. Therefore, in order to protect our Republic, President Lincoln created a Trust and then signed an Executive Order known as Proclamation 1: declaring a national emergency and instituting martial law. Since the government in Washington DC had no jurisdiction outside its own district, Lincoln commissioned the Lieber Code in 1863, which extended the governing military law outside of DC into the rest of the states. This effectively put all of America under military control.

It has been the responsibility of the military to protect the Trust ever since.
